About this boat
Project MASTER is a 70 m family explorer conversion under way at ICON Yachts. Reborn from the offshore rescue vessel MV HAVILA TIGRIS - a Rolls-Royce/Ulstein 1,864 GT design built in Norway by Kleven Verft in 2001, later operated by Atlantic Offshore out of Aberdeen as MV OCEAN NESS - she will emerge at approx. 2,801 GT with a new extended stern. Design architecture by Espen Oino, interiors by Winch Design, naval architecture by ICON/Conoship. A new diesel-electric hybrid propulsion system with five 500 kW IMO Tier III generators and two 1,100 kW Voith Schneider eVSP propellers gives a 14-knot top speed, 10-knot cruise and 9,000 nm range. 991 m2 of owner and guest luxury area for 12 guests, up to 25 crew, plus a dedicated 40 m2 expedition area with laboratory space for hosted scientists. Tenders include an EC145 helicopter, two 11.5 m tenders and a research submersible.
