Founded by Paolo Vitelli in 1969
Paolo Vitelli established Azimut in 1969 and assembled the Azimut|Benetti Group around it over the following decades. Vitelli died on December 31, 2024, after a fall near his home in Ayas, in the Aosta Valley. Investment in the home site has continued: in July 2025 the company inaugurated its renovated Avigliana headquarters, designed with Michele De Lucchi's AMDL Circle studio as part of a 50 million euro plan for the plant.
Seven series across six production sites
The current range is organized in seven series: Verve, Atlantis, Magellano, Fly, S, Grande and Seadeck. Boats come out of Avigliana, Fano, Viareggio, Savona and Varazze in Italy, plus Itajaí in Brazil. Avigliana builds the Magellano, Fly and Seadeck collections, and the first Seadeck 9, a model approaching 26 meters, left that plant as the largest yacht assembled there to date.
Azimut on the charter and brokerage market
Charter fleets favor the brand's flybridge boats, and GetBoat's catalogue includes the Azimut 68, 70 and 80 for rental and purchase alike. Five decades of high-volume production also mean wide choice on the used market at almost any length in the range, and sister ships are usually available for price comparison.
