Sunseeker International has built performance motor yachts in Poole, England, since 1969, with a current range from 55 foot cruisers to a 134 foot superyacht. All four of its model ranges are assembled on Poole Harbour, the same Dorset waterfront where the company started.

From Poole Power Boats to Sunseeker International

Brothers Robert and John Braithwaite founded the company in 1969 as Poole Power Boats and renamed it Sunseeker International in 1985. Chinese conglomerate Wanda Group bought a majority stake in 2013 and held it for eleven years. In late 2024 a consortium led by Italy's Orienta Capital Partners, together with Miami based Lionheart Capital, acquired the company. The new owners committed to keeping headquarters, design, and yacht production in Poole.

The Sunseeker range today

The current lineup falls into four ranges: Performance models from 55 to 75 feet, the Yacht range from 55 to 100 feet, the Ocean range between 82 and 90 feet, and a 134 foot Superyacht at the top. Sunseeker calls it the most diverse product portfolio in the world.

Charter fleets and the used Sunseeker market

Decades of series production mean a deep pool of Sunseekers on the secondhand and charter market. Models such as the Sunseeker 68, 74, 75, and 82, along with the Superhawk series, come up regularly for charter and sale. Boats in the 70 to 90 foot bracket are a fixture of Mediterranean charter fleets, and used examples tend to compete on engine hours and refit history rather than rarity.
