Heesen Yachts launched the 180-foot Serena in August 2025 and delivered the 187-foot Santosha (formerly Project Akira) in July 2025, both within the last 12 months. The yard also announced sales of several new projects including Project Jade, Project Venus, and Project Agnetha.
More than 200 superyachts in aluminum and steel have left Heesen's yard in Oss, the Netherlands, since Frans Heesen founded the company in 1978. The brand's stated focus is speed and fuel-efficient cruising, and current projects run from 50 to 72 meters.
Frans Heesen came from the plastics industry when he bought a shipyard site in Oss in 1978. The yard earned its reputation with light, fast aluminum hulls: Octopussy, launched in 1988, hit 53.17 knots and broke the motor yacht speed records of the day. Heesen is still regarded as one of the leading builders of all-aluminum yachts, though it works in steel as well. The company has changed hands over the years: Russian entrepreneur Vagit Alekperov held the company from 2008 to 2022, and Dutch entrepreneur Laurens Last bought it in April 2025.
The Oss facility covers nine construction sheds and five dry docks. Yachts are offered under three programs, Series, Smart Custom and Full Custom. Many hulls use the Fast Displacement Hull Form, a design that cruises efficiently at high speed while keeping fuel use down. The 80 meter flagship known as Project Cosmos dates from 2023, and the current order book spans 50 to 72 meters.
Two hundred launches add up to an active brokerage and charter fleet. Heesen motor yachts appear steadily in crewed charter programs and sale listings, and GetBoat lists Heesen builds for both charter and purchase. Age, refit history and hull material drive pricing across that fleet.
