Founded in 1976 in Charente-Maritime
Jean-François Fountaine and Yves Pajot established the yard in the town of Aigrefeuille-d'Aunis, a short drive inland from La Rochelle; a second factory later opened in La Rochelle itself. About 800 people work on the catamaran side alone. The Dufour deal, closed in May 2018 at a value of 22.6 million euros, joined two neighbors into a group of about 1,200 employees with some 14,500 boats afloat across both brands.
The sailing range: FP41 to the FPY 120S
Current sailing catamarans start with the FP41 at about 40 feet and step up through the FP44, FP48, FP51 and FP55 to the Samana 59. Above those sit the yacht models, including the Thira 80 and the FPY 120S, which reaches roughly 115 feet. A separate motor line covers power catamarans up to 80 feet. The company has set itself the target of offering hybrid powertrains across its entire sailing fleet by 2030.
Fountaine Pajot in charter fleets
