The Tanna 47 follows Fountaine Pajot’s recent design language: clean exterior lines, a broad beam, and a layout built around open social spaces. The flybridge is a major feature, and the improved circulation around the saloon and cockpit makes the boat feel more contemporary and practical than earlier models in the range. It is clearly aimed at cruising comfort and charter usability rather than minimalist performance sailing.

Under sail, the boat is described as easy to handle and capable in light airs, with better pace once the breeze builds. Reports place it in the comfortable mid-single-digit to low-seven-knot range under sail in moderate conditions, while the helm and sheet arrangement support short-handed sailing. It is not a speed-focused multihull, but it has enough sail area and stability to make relaxed passagemaking realistic.

Comfort is the Tanna 47’s strongest suit. The 5-cabin version used for charter offers high guest capacity, private heads, and a layout that works well for groups, though the owner-focused versions sacrifice some berths for more space. Interior volume, natural light and deck lounging areas are all strong points, making it a good liveaboard platform.

Value depends on priorities. For buyers who want a modern, well-equipped cruising catamaran with strong charter credentials, it is a compelling package. For sailors who want a more connected helm, a dedicated nav station, or a lighter, more agile feel, the compromises will be more noticeable.
