The Bali 4.0 stands out for its layout rather than its athleticism. At roughly 39 feet, it uses its broad beam and open bridgedeck design to create a much larger-feeling social space than many cats in this class. The aft salon, forward cockpit and direct access between living areas are central to its appeal, while the four-cabin version is clearly aimed at charter or large-family cruising.
On the water, the boat is best described as capable and steady rather than fast. Public reviews of the model describe sailing speeds around the 7-knot range in normal conditions, with better numbers possible when the breeze is right, but it is not a performance catamaran. The shallow draft is useful in coastal waters, yet the wide platform and cruising-focused rig mean it is more about relaxed passage-making than spirited handling.
Comfort is a major strength. The Bali concept delivers excellent volume for living aboard, and the 4.0’s accommodation is well suited to groups of up to 10 within the stated CE category. The trade-off is that the open-plan arrangement reduces privacy and can feel exposed compared with more conventional catamaran layouts.
As a used or charter-market proposition, the Bali 4.0 offers strong value if the priority is space per foot and practical cruising comfort. Buyers seeking direct feedback at the helm, sharper windward performance or a more traditional catamaran feel may prefer alternatives, but for relaxed family cruising it remains a persuasive package.
