Each daily observation uses the median—not the average—asking price per foot over current public sale listings in every currency, converted to EUR at the day's exchange rate. The first observation of the series is 100; subsequent points are expressed relative to it.
The series restarted with dataset version market-intelligence-v7, whose base date 2026-09-21 is the first snapshot after the sale sample widened from EUR-quoted listings to every currency converted at the day's rate. A base-100 series cannot splice two measures, so the earlier EUR-only observations are not carried over.
This is a catalog-composition benchmark. It does not observe completed sales, does not follow the same yacht through repeat transactions and does not claim that an individual hull changed value by the index movement. Use category, age and brand evidence to narrow the comparison before assessing a specific yacht.

Observations outside €250–€250,000 per foot are treated as likely unit or price-entry errors. A category or age band needs at least 8 eligible listings before it is published.
