Turkish gulet building

Su Marine Yachts builds custom sailing and motor yachts from 12 to 60 meters at its shipyard in Tuzla, Istanbul, close to Sabiha Gokcen airport. The yard works in steel, aluminum, composite, and cold molded wood epoxy, and its builds are certified by classification societies including RINA, DNV, and GL.

From Kesgin Yatcilik to Su Marine

Ahmet Kesgin founded the original workshop in Tuzla in 1998 under the name Kesgin Yatcilik, and the business was incorporated as Su Marine in 2007. The family's boatbuilding roots go back more than four decades, to early composite boat construction in Turkey; industry profiles describe the operation as the country's first composite boat builder. Tuzla itself is Istanbul's shipbuilding district, on the Asian side of the city facing the Marmara Sea.

The Tuzla shipyard and build methods

The facility spreads over two levels, with four covered bays for yachts up to 60 meters and four more for boats up to 15 meters, plus paint and varnish booths, a stainless steel workshop, an interior joinery shop, and about 800 square meters of office space. Su Marine describes its yachts as completely hand crafted, and published profiles cite finished builds up to 50 meters. The mix of steel, aluminum, composite, and wood epoxy methods under one roof lets the yard move between motor yacht and sailing yacht projects.

Su Marine yachts on the charter market

The yard presents Roxane, Navi, and Darwin among its own projects, and Su Marine yachts appear in international charter directories. GetBoat carries Su Marine listings for charter and sale.
