The Bavaria 39 Cruiser from 2007 is a J&J-designed fiberglass cruising yacht with a fin keel, spade rudder and fractional sloop rig. At about 39 feet overall with a broad beam near 4 meters, it favors interior volume and stability over high-end performance, which is typical of Bavaria’s production cruisers of this era.
Under sail, it is generally regarded as a straightforward and forgiving boat rather than a fast, highly tuned one. The rig and sail plan are sufficient for comfortable coastal and passage cruising, and the moderate ballast ratio and displacement point to steady rather than lively behavior.
