History and shipyard
Terhi began in 1972, when the boat factory in Rymättylä was inaugurated in the presence of President Urho Kekkonen. The brand is part of TerhiTec Oy, which is described as a Finnish boat manufacturer and a member of the Otto Brandt Group. Terhi says the same factory site in Rymättylä remains its production base, and that the company has manufactured well over 235,000 boats over more than 50 years. Its boats are sold in export markets as well as in the Nordic region.
Model range and construction
Terhi’s model range includes rowing boats, dinghies and small motorboats, with both combustion outboard and electric outboard options. Company material says the hulls are made from weather-resistant ABS plastic and built with double or triple shell construction, with polyurethane foam between the shells for buoyancy and structural support. Terhi has also said it is the only European manufacturer of ABS boats, and that its production method is intended to make the boats durable, smooth and unsinkable. The range includes models such as the 400 C, 450 CC and 480 BR.
