From a 30,000 square meter yard in the port of Savona, Italy, Mondomarine builds custom explorer superyachts in aluminum and steel from 40 to 75 meters. The brand outlived its original owner: after the operating company entered insolvency, Palumbo Superyachts took over the Savona shipyard in November 2018 and has run Mondomarine since.
Insolvency and the Palumbo Superyachts takeover
On November 15, 2018, the Port Authority of Savona granted Palumbo Superyachts a twenty year state concession for the production site, and the group took on both the shipyard and the brand after the original company's insolvency. Palumbo also owns ISA Yachts, Columbus Yachts, and Extra Yachts, and it operates yards in Ancona, Malta, Marseille, Naples, and Savona with a representative office in Monaco. In 2024 the group reported twelve superyachts under construction across Ancona and Savona, from 37 to 80 meters, with deliveries scheduled into 2027.
Aluminum explorer yachts from 40 to 75 meters
The brand's specialty is aluminum hulled explorer yachts, with steel also in the mix, typically 40 to 75 meters long. Designs carrying the Mondomarine name include the M series, among them the M50 Aria and the 60 meter Sea Falcon. The Savona facility covers 30,000 square meters and runs an 820 ton travel lift, seven docks that can moor vessels up to 75 meters, and hard standing for yachts up to 60 meters, capacity that serves new construction and refit work alike.
