Mangusta unveiled two new GranSport models in the last 12 months: the GranSport 38 at the 2026 Miami International Boat Show and the GranSport 50 at the 2026 Palm Beach International Boat Show. These additions expand the GranSport superyacht line to five offerings.
Mangusta is the yacht brand of Overmarine Group, the Balducci family shipyard founded in Viareggio, Italy, in 1985 and known for fast maxi open superyachts. The brand marked forty years in 2025, still under the same family, and its three lines now cover planing, fast displacement and full displacement hulls.
The Balducci family set up Overmarine in 1985 and made the Mangusta name with the maxi open, a long, low planing type the yard has refined for four decades. What began as a Viareggio operation now also runs a shipyard in Pisa, where the displacement lines are built, and the group keeps offices in Italy, the United States and France.
The Maxi Open series starts at the Mangusta 104 REV, a 31.8-meter yacht good for 35 knots on twin 2,600 hp MTU engines with waterjet drives, and tops out at the 165 REV at just under 50 meters. The GranSport line takes the brand in another direction: all-aluminum fast displacement yachts led by the GranSport 54, one of which, El Leon, was the first Mangusta to cross oceans. The steel-hulled Oceano series, including the Oceano 39, covers full displacement cruising; GranSport and Oceano hulls come out of the Pisa shipyard.
Earlier maxi opens circulate steadily through the charter and brokerage market. Mangusta 72s, 80s, 105s and 108s all appear among the brand's listings on GetBoat, along with an Oceano.
