Linssen Yachts is a Dutch boat builder founded in 1949 by Jac Linssen in Maasbracht, in the Netherlands. The company builds steel motor yachts and inland cruising yachts at its own boatyard in Maasbracht. It is a family business that has remained focused on displacement motorboats and cruising yachts for the European market.
History and shipyard
Linssen began after the Second World War as a small carpentry and ship-repair business in Maasbracht. In the 1950s, it expanded from woodwork and repairs into steel boatbuilding, first making workboats and tenders before moving into leisure craft. In the 1970s, Jos Linssen took over from his father and renamed the company Linssen Yachts BV. The builder has continued as a family firm and says all Linssen yachts are built at the Maasbracht boatyard.
Model range and design
Linssen is best known for steel motor yachts in the 8 to 15 metre range, especially for inland cruising. Early model families included the Sturdy line, followed by the SL, SE and SX series, with the Grand Sturdy series becoming the brand’s best-known range from 2005 onward. The company’s boats are typically displacement cruisers, built with an emphasis on steel construction, practical layouts and long-distance use on canals, rivers and sheltered waters.
