Jack Newington founded the company in 1963, and Fairline has designed and built its boats in Oundle ever since. In January 2025 the business entered administration, only weeks after a change of owner. That April a consortium led by London private equity firm Bronzewood Capital bought it out of administration through a new holding company set up by entrepreneur Paul Taylor, and around 250 jobs at the yard were preserved.
Targa, Squadron, Phantom and F//Line
The current lineup spans roughly 33 to 68 feet across the Targa, Gran Turismo, Squadron, Phantom and F//Line ranges. Targas are open sports cruisers. The Squadron series covers flybridge yachts from 50 to 68 feet; the Phantom 65, launched in 2022, mixes Targa and Squadron traits in a sportsbridge layout; the F//Line 33 is the day boat of the family.
Fairline on the brokerage and charter market
Six decades of production left plenty of boats on the secondhand market. Targas from the 38 to the 62 and Squadrons from 65 to 78 feet come up for sale and charter regularly, and GetBoat lists Fairline models across that spread. The biggest of them, like the Squadron 78, date from years when the range reached past its current 68-foot ceiling.
