Frequently asked questions

How old is the Codecasa shipyard?
Codecasa dates to 1825, when Giovanni Battista Codecasa began working as a shipwright in Viareggio, Italy. The yard marked its 200th anniversary in 2025 and is still run by the family.
What is Codecasa known for?
Custom superyachts built in Viareggio with steel hulls and aluminum superstructures, roughly 30 to 70 meters. Its best known build is the 65 meter Main, commissioned by Giorgio Armani.
Is Codecasa still building yachts?
Yes. The current series covers 43 to 58 meters, and the latest delivery, the Codecasa 57 hull F81 named Legacy 4, launched in February 2026 and was handed over that April.

Codecasa turned 200 in 2025: the Viareggio shipyard has built vessels since 1825 and now delivers custom steel and aluminum superyachts of 30 to 70 meters. It is one of the oldest family owned superyacht builders in Italy, and the founding family still runs it.

Two hundred years of the Codecasa family in Viareggio

Giovanni Battista Codecasa set up as a shipwright in Viareggio in 1825, and the yard has carried the family name through every generation since. The move into luxury motor yachts came in 1973, when Fulvio Codecasa joined the business. He remains at the helm today, and his two daughters work alongside him. The company operates as Cantieri Navali Codecasa Tre.

Current Codecasa series and recent deliveries

Codecasa builds superyachts with steel hulls and aluminum superstructures, or entirely in aluminum, from roughly 30 to 70 meters. Current production centers on the Codecasa 43, 55, 57, and 58 series. The latest delivery, the Codecasa 57 hull F81 named Legacy 4, launched in February 2026 and was handed over in April. The yard's best known build is the 65 meter Main, commissioned by Giorgio Armani, and the Codecasa 55 Framura took the Most Achieved title at the 2021 World Yachts Trophies.

Codecasa on the brokerage and charter market

Codecasa superyachts reach the market in small numbers, since the yard delivers custom projects rather than production runs. Many hulls stay in service for decades, so the brokerage mix includes both recent series yachts and older one offs. GetBoat lists Codecasa yachts for charter and for sale when they come up.
