Aventura is a catamaran and yacht builder with two distinct brands: Aventura Boats in the Dominican Republic and Aventura Yachts in Tunisia. The Dominican yard builds commercial fiberglass catamarans for tourism and workboat service, while the Tunisian shipyard builds sailing and power catamarans for private cruising.

Dominican yard origins

Aventura Boats was founded in the Dominican Republic in 1998, when Luc Guessard opened a small boatyard in Luperón after operating a day-charter business in the Caribbean. The company began building 30-foot fiberglass catamarans in 2002 for diving operators, and later moved its yard to La Culebra on the country’s north coast. It is described as the first commercial catamaran production builder in the Caribbean and has supplied boats for tourism, ferry, and workboat use.

Tunisian catamaran brand

Aventura Yachts is the brand of the STGI shipyard in Tunisia, created in the early 2000s by Eric Roger and Romain Roger. The company was initially based in Tazarka near Nabeul and later moved to a modern factory in Menzel Bourguiba near Bizerte. Its range includes sailing and power catamarans such as the Aventura 23, 28, 37, 37 DC, 45, 38 SC, 38 MY, 50 MY, and larger motor-yacht models. The brand is positioned around composite construction and multihull cruising.
