A lovely boat for hire in Utrecht at the Zilveren Schaats. The boat has two benches with comfortable cushions and a seating area at the front. It can accommodate up to five people and is perfect for a day’s cruise along Utrecht’s canals. It is fitted with an electric motor (e-propulsion), which is silent, ensuring a pleasant sailing experience. Feel free to bring some tasty snacks, drinks or a music player to make the most of the Utrecht canals. At the start, we’ll explain how everything works and the rules on the water. You’ll also receive a map showing all the sailing routes in Utrecht. The route begins at the Zilveren Schaats (which borders our garden), followed by a beautiful green route lasting about 20–30 minutes until you reach the Singel. After that, you are generally free to choose where you want to go. The most popular options are: - the Singel, a lovely green route (generally a bit quieter) where you get to see more of Utrecht. It is also possible to sail under the well-known Hoog Catharijne (shopping centre). - the Oude Gracht, a stunning route (slightly more touristy) past outdoor cafés and under pretty little bridges in the centre of Utrecht. The boat is moored by our garden and you can easily board it. It’s best to allow 3 hours to take your time exploring both routes. A unique experience to admire the city of Utrecht from the water. The “standard times” for starting and ending your boat trip are from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (all day) (there is also a half-day option, which lasts 3.5 hours).
