About this boat
In 1971 Swan 55 hull no. 13 designed by S&S was built for the first German owner. She sailed under the name "JAN POTT", raced for several years and sold to the Akademischer Segel Verein (ASV) Berlin. The ASV babtized her into Walrus III following their old Walross II.
In ASV the boat earned most of her glorious story. She sailed all waters on planet earth. It logged more than 220,000 NM and the highlight of her life was definitely the participation in the second edition of Whitbread round the World Race in 1981/82.
Again she changed to another S&S Swan lovers, - under her new owner she had refit, ready for the Baltic Sea.
