About this boat

CHARTER – Mallard 10.40 Sailboat (1978) – Characterful Bluewater Cruising Ketch

TOBAGO CAYS is a Mallard 10.40 ketch, a center-cockpit bluewater cruising sailboat built in La Rochelle in 1978 and carefully restored.
Designed for offshore sailing, this yacht is renowned for its strength, comfort at sea, and reassuring handling.

I chose this boat after extensive research for its generous interior volume, seaworthiness, and safe, well-balanced behavior.
The ketch rig allows for a progressive distribution of sail area, providing stable, smooth, and balanced sailing. The boat holds its course well and remains easy and pleasant to handle, especially with a short-handed crew.

The protected and spacious center cockpit offers excellent comfort both underway and at anchor, with a large table seating 5 to 6 people comfortably.
