About this boat
The maxi catamaran "Region de Picardie" was built in 1983 by the architect Gino Morelli. This catamaran was the first multihull made of carbon fiber. Originating from this project was our skipper. The construction began in Picardy, near Beauvais. Then, it was an entire region that supported this project and gave its name to the catamaran "Region de Picardie". The skipper participated in numerous offshore races solo and in a crew between 1983 and 1989. He also holds the record for the Calais to Dover to Calais crossing.
