I own a 2020 Lagoon 40 "ANGELO", and I absolutely love sailing it. It’s a modern, sleek catamaran that perfectly combines comfort, safety, and performance. With a length of 12.75 m and a beam of 6.76 m, it feels spacious but is still very easy to handle, and its shallow draft of 1.35 m allows me to anchor almost anywhere, even in shallow bays. Inside, the boat is bright and airy thanks to the large panoramic windows. I have the 4-Oceans Evasionin layout with 4 bathrooms, which is perfect for family trips or when hosting friends. The interior is well-built, with reinforced fiberglass hulls and marine plywood bulkheads, giving the boat a solid and durable feel. Sailing it is a pleasure. The fully battened mainsail and self-tacking jib make handling very simple, even with just a small crew. Under the deck, I run twin Yanmar engines (45 HP each), which provide plenty of power for docking or motoring in calm conditions. The fuel tanks hold 400 L in total, giving me good autonomy for longer trips, and the 300 L freshwater tank is perfect for multi-day cruises. I’ve outfitted the Lagoon 40 with all the electronics I could need. It has a full suite of B&G instruments, autopilot, radar, GPS/plotter, and VHF. There’s also shore power, a battery charger, solar panels, and LED lighting throughout. I even have heating and hot water, so it’s comfortable in any climate. The deck is where I spend most of my time when at anchor or underway. It has a teak finish, a large shaded cockpit with comfortable cushions, swim platforms, ladders, and davits for my dinghy. The electric windlass makes anchoring easy, and the bimini provides perfect shade during sunny days. One of my favorite features is the lightweight electric outboard for my dinghy. It’s incredibly easy to carry and charge, so I can hop to shore quietly and without fuss—perfect for quick trips from the anchor. Overall, owning this Lagoon 40 is a dream. It’s a perfect combination of performance and comfort, with all the features I need for both long cruises and relaxing weekends. The twin engines, shallow draft, and thoughtful equipment make it both reliable and easy to sail, while the interior and deck spaces provide all the comfort I could ask for. It’s truly a boat I’m proud to own.
