About this boat
The Sun Odyssey 34.2 is a 10m40 habitable sailboat, both pleasant and comfortable both when sailing and at anchor. My boat Tiama is the owner's version with a double forward cabin, a large aft cabin for 2 people, a large portside locker, and a large bathroom with WC. The saloon, with its rounded shapes and light woodwork, is very welcoming. The cockpit is equipped with a fixed table with 2 foldable flaps. This fixed table is very practical and allows comfortable seating for 4 people. On the navigation side, this sailboat is very pleasant, responsive, and well-balanced at the helm. The tri-radial genoa and the new mainsail, replaced in 2022, are mounted on a furler with all the controls leading back to the cockpit for ease and safety. The boat sails well and is stiff to the wind, making it very comfortable when sailing. The boat is equipped with a GPS with Mediterranean cartography, autopilot, depth sounder, anemometer, and wind vane. Having faced some setbacks before, I no longer offer my boat for rent without being on board. Therefore, I thank any potential renters interested in renting the boat alone for not submitting requests that I would unfortunately have to decline. Thank you very much for your understanding. Additionally, I offer a 10% discount for the second consecutive week of rental and a 20% discount for the third and/or fourth week if you rent for 3 or 4 consecutive weeks. The boat is fully equipped for coastal navigation. I also offer, if desired, to provide an inflatable dinghy with an optional electric motor and battery for a fee of €50/week. The freshwater autonomy is 244 liters distributed in the 2 tanks of 104 liters at the front and 140 liters at the rear. The Battery Management System (BMV), a Victron 700 with its Bluetooth module, allows you to know the available electrical autonomy at any time, expressed as a percentage of the battery charge or in hours. This function allows you to know the current consumption at any time and display the remaining autonomy in days and hours based on the instantaneous consumption and any solar production. Once you've experienced this feature, it's hard to do without it! TIAMA is equipped for offshore navigation. I would be delighted to accompany you depending on the available time and weather conditions: - East towards the Lérins Islands, which can be reached in a few hours, generally between 3 and 5 hours depending on the weather conditions. - West towards the Hyères Islands and especially Port-Cros, which is really nice and only a day's sail away (generally 6 to 7 hours), and Porquerolles a few more hours of sailing to the West. - Towards Corsica if the weather allows. The experience of sailing to Corsica is unforgettable due to the crossing, the coastline, and the incredible beauty of the Corsican anchorages and the quality of the water. The crossing generally takes between 16 and 20 hours depending on the weather conditions. Plan for a round trip cruise to Corsica from Saint Raphaël, at least 7 days if the weather is favorable from the start, possibly ten days, or ideally 2 weeks to choose a good weather window for the crossings in good wind and sea conditions. It is also important to consider the possibility of delaying the return by a few days in case of unfavorable weather or opting for an alternative if the weather is not suitable for going to Corsica and back. For the Corsica crossing, we would organize "watches," generally 3 hours each, allowing everyone to rest between their watches. Feel free to ask me any questions, and it would be a great pleasure to share the experience of a cruise aboard Tiama for a few days to several weeks. In terms of space on board, the sailboat is very pleasant and comfortable for up to 4 people on board, or 5 at most to keep a minimum of living space on board! If you're interested in the experience, I would be happy to share my best spots with you. Until then, I am at your disposal to answer all your questions. Franck
