About this boat

Very beautiful sailboat Oceanis 281 from 1996 in excellent condition meticulously maintained. Spacious, comfortable and pleasant to sail. With its year-round mooring in La Grande Motte, you can fully enjoy beautiful days of sailing and evenings in one of the most renowned ports of the Western Mediterranean. But if you prefer longer navigations, in a few hours you can reach Les Saintes Marie or Sete, two charming ports that have retained their authenticity. And if you really want to cover some miles, head towards La Bonne Mère. Set off early in the morning to arrive at the old Port of Marseille by the end of the day, or if you prefer tranquility, head to the port of Frioul with a view of La Bonne Mère and the Chateau d'If. From there, you'll be just a stone's throw away from the calanques of Cassis (Sormiou, Morgiou, En Vau, Bec de l'Aigle, etc.). A week that will make you forget the worries of everyday life and you will feel like you've been away for 15 days. I rent it for a maximum of 4 people. Large spacious, bright and airy aft cabin (3 opening portholes), wardrobe and storage in the room. Open front cabin with curtains and large opening porthole (very suitable for two children). Large saloon for a 8.50m sailboat with a folding table to facilitate access to the front cabin or storage lockers under the original velvet benches in perfect condition. Bright saloon with large skylight (good headroom of 1.80). Saloon that can easily accommodate 6 people for meals or drinks. Galley with refrigerator, sink (no hot water), two-burner stove, and storage cabinets. Large chart table made of solid wood backed by a storage cupboard. Spacious bathroom with sea water toilet, sink, and numerous storage spaces (possibility of cold water shower only). Large open cockpit that can easily accommodate 6 people, even 8 once the tiller is raised and the boom is hoisted with the mainsail tackle on the port or starboard rail. You can also deploy the stainless steel Bimini NV to protect yourself from the sun. For navigation, an 18HP engine is more than enough in calm seas and for returning to port. Engine start and stop from the cockpit. A SIMRAD TP32 tiller pilot (the largest model in the Simrad range purchased in 2019) will allow you to choose to sail on course or into the wind with automatic tacking. Depth sounder, wind vane anemometer, and multi-function GARMIN transducer installed in February 2026 by a professional will help you refine your close-hauled sailing. A fully battened mainsail (2016 in good condition) with two reefing lines at the mast base. Lazy bag and lazy jacks with ball bearing car will allow you to lower the mainsail without difficulty, even in emergencies. Genoa with high overlap from 2016 also with UV protection strips from 2026, two self-tailing winches (Lewmar 16). Possibility, with a supplement of 50 euros, to provide you with an asymmetric spinnaker (without a pole). Coastal safety equipment. Reminder: A good sailor always keeps in mind that a sailing project is not an objective to be achieved at all costs. A good captain plans the navigation according to the weather so that the entire crew enjoys and savors the joys of the sea
