This HR55 is your boat for Bluewater sailing, You won't find another more comfortable, safer and better equipped than this one. Owners comment: After we owned a smaller boat in we bought our dream boat the HR55 from the first owner in 2017 to do Bluewater sailing. We equipped and upgraded it over 3 years. In 2019 we sailed down to Lagos and stayed over the winter. We were going to continue in the spring of 2020 but when the pandemic came we decided to stay in the Marina of Lagos. We have been sailing around Portugal & Spain and thoroughly enjoyed it, but now age is starting to make its presence and the interest in longer sailings is being replaced by the grandchildren at home. We truly hope to find a new owner who understands and appreciates the boat's full potential. Upgrades done in 2018 - 2019: North 3DI Endurance mainsail, Flexofold propeller, Upgraded electrical system with lithium, Mattress and spring mattresses, New upholstery throughout the boat, Carpet, Mast lighting, 2 AC units 12.000 - 16.000 BTU, Watermaker 240 liters EMWA, Alarm, Mastervolt GPRS module, Iridium GO Remote control windlass with chain counter, Seagull 4 waterfilter with separate tap, Webcam in radar post, Electrical Davits, Dinghy Highfield 340 classic with thohatsu 2 stroke 9,8, Special swim ladder, Mastervolt display cockpit, Jonbuoy with PLB, New Sprayhood, Spayhood extension, Weathermax cover for the boat, Window cover, 2 led lights on arm in cockpit, Cockpit table extension, Carbon Genaker pole, Solar charger with contacs in cockpit. Maintenance done in 2025: Hull sanded and new antifouling paint Hempel Globic, Cutlass bearing checked, anodes changed, Polish and waxing of hull and topsides, All seacocks checked end serviced, Both Webasto heaters serviced, Aft and bow thrusters serviced, Rig check. Rigged for Bluewater Cruising: Selden mast and boom The rig has triple spreaders, which are only swept back three degrees resulting in extra stability and are not in the way when sailing downwind. Furthermore this yacht is fitted with a jumpstay that gives additional stability when using a permanent hydraulic cutter stay. This setup is particularly ideal for ocean crossings. Cockpit: A Sheltered and spacious centre cockpit. A plotter on the steering pedestal, and an extra plotter on Starboard companionway. To make life really easy there are both bow and stern thrusters, so it is made very easy to manoeuvre in tight spaces. A large cockpit table for comfort, and plenty of seats. The deck is well laid out and shows Hallberg-Rassy's signature windshield around the cockpit. Halyards are kept on the mast. This Hallberg-Rassy 55 is a true offshore cruising boat. This model combines performance with adequate displacement to keep you comfortable and safe on a long cruise. 4 winches on the cockpit, 3 electrical Lewmar. 3 on the mast manual. Electric windlass for the anchor Interior Lots of natural light coming through large tempered glass portlights in the saloon, as well as four hull portlights and seven flush mounted skylight hatches, of which three are in the saloon alone. Below, at night, there's lovely mood lighting. The very large ensuite owner's cabin is aft, a pullman double to starboard with heads to port forward of the saloon, and a twin cabin in the bow. The saloon table is to starboard, with a large settee and two extra folding chairs to add to the table. Two comfortable armchairs on Port side, with a tv behind. The interior is on one level throughout the boat The Hallberg Rassy 55 is known as a luxury, offshore cruising yacht. It has a well-protected cockpit, high-quality construction, and advanced, easy-to-operate features, including push button systems for sail handling and thrusters. Needles to say the boat is praised for its combination of performance and comfort. Key features; Offshore Capability: The 55 is built for blue water sailing, with a strong rig and hull designed for comfort and safety in long-distance cruising Protected Cockpit: A hallmark of Hallberg-Rassy, is the cockpit which is well-sheltered with a windscreen and high coamings, offering excellent protection. High-Tech Systems: The yacht is equipped with push-button systems for furling sails, thrusters, and an anchor windlass, simplifying handling for short-handed sailing. Luxurious Interior: The interior features abundant natural light through large portlights and skylights, well-appointed cabins with ample storage, and high-quality finishes. Performance & Handling: Easy to Handle: The availability of powered systems and a well-designed deck layout contribute to easy handling and manoeuvring, particularly in harbours. To make life really easy there are both bow and stern thrusters, so it is easy to manoeuvre in tight spaces. Speeds: The 55 is capable of high speeds, especially when sailing on a reach, making it an excellent choice for sailing long distances. Owner Experience: Confidence & Security: Owners report feeling safe and secure on the Hallberg-Rassy 55, even during solo long voyages across the ocean. Investment Value: The combination of build quality, advanced features, and proven offshore capability makes the 55 a high-value yacht for those serious about cruising. Engine: The engine room has easy access, with walk-in characteristics. It's not noisy either, with very good insulation. All easy to maintain, all well sound insulated. The engine itself is a D4-180, which hums quietly and it is evident that there is a very good torque. The three-bladed Flexifold propeller contributes to this yacht's ability to achieve a cruising speed 8 knots Electrical: There is a top designed Mastervolt electrical system, which quickly and automatically changes between shore power and inverter, depending on what is available. This system is also build for 230 V and 110 V. Two Mastervolt Combi will deliver continuously 7Kw, that provides for all the needs at anchor or under sail. A Whisper Power generator of 10Kw completes this installation. Management Company’s comment We are honoured to have been taking care of this incredibly well maintained and up to modern standards Hallberg-Rassy 55, for the owners. Now that they have decided to have to let go we were asked to help them sell their boat. We got to know the boat very well over the last few years and it is very rare to see such a fully fitted Bluewater sailing yacht. The owner particularly made an enormous effort to install a top of the notch electrical system. The boat is full of extras and loads of spares. Without hesitation we can say it is ready to go! We have an office in the Marina of Lagos, just in front of the boat and are available to show and explain the boat to anyone seriously interested. We hope to hear from you, Dai & Augusto Best of LusitaniaKey Specifications
