About this boat
Artemide is a gorgeously designed, hand-built 13 meter classic wooden sailboat.
She offers a unique combination of comfort, beauty, seaworthiness and classic Italian style. Her elegant lines and noble construction make her a head turner in every port she visits.
She is now available on selected weeks for cruises and sailing lessons for groups of up to 11 people for day trips and up to 6 people during multi-day cruises.
Her generous layout allows her to accommodate her crew and guests in two private cabins plus a center salon equipped with four berths. She is fully equipped to the highest modern safety and comfort standards and is only sailed by her lifelong owners or a professional skipper.
Mandatory extra cost of skipper: 200€ a day.
A bit of history:
Artemide was built in 1970 to the highest standards as one of the last wooden racing yachts in Guido Appollonio's shipyard in Trieste.
She was designed by Riccardo Pergolis, though Alan Buchanan's strong influence is recognisable in every detail, as Pergolis worked for nearly ten years in Buchanan's offices in Jersey.
After a successful start as a racing yacht, Artemide was sold in 1972 to Enrico Vecchi who used her as a family cruiser until 2014. Mr Vecchi entrusted Artemide's maintenance to his friend Dalmato Politeo who lovingly kept her for over 45 years in the pristine state you will find her today.
In 2017 Artemide was sold to Gino Cintolesi who sails her privately and commercially all over the Mediterranean sea. Dalmato Politeo and his sons Michele and Dario are still very much involved in preserving Artemide's beauty and spirit and actively participate in her delicate maintenance.
