About this boat
Sail the Ionian. Really.
Most charter boats drop anchor in the same three spots. We don’t.
We depart from Preveza — a working fishing harbour, not a tourist marina — because from here the Ionian opens up properly: the Gulf of Arta to the east, the Lefkada Canal cutting north, and Paxos just far enough south to still feel like a discovery. We know these waters well. Mario has been sailing them professionally for years. Sara studied them as a marine biologist. Between the two of them, they know where the sea turtles surface, which cove stays sheltered when the Maestrale picks up, and which village bakery opens before anyone else does.
The boat is a Beneteau Oceanis 473 Performance — 15 metres, three double Oceans Evasionins, a saloon where the whole family fits without negotiating elbow room. It’s a real blue-water cruiser, not a floating hotel. You’ll feel the difference.
Families with kids tend to find us — and that matters to us. The younger ones can take the helm under Mario’s guidance, learn to trim the sails, handle an anchor watch. They come aboard slightly indifferent and leave with a skill they didn’t expect to care about. Parents, meanwhile, manage to relax more than they’d planned.
On the water: SUP, snorkelling through Posidonia meadows.
On board: lunch is made from whatever came from the market that morning — simple and real. The aperitivo at anchor, before the light changes, is non-negotiable. Evenings, dinner ashore.
On board there’s also Nina — our boat dog. She doesn’t bark at guests. She tends to ignore them gracefully until the prosciutto comes out.
Three formats: • Day excursion — a genuine taste of one stretch of coast • Weekend escape — two days, properly offshore, no rushing • Full week — the itinerary becomes yours
