About this boat
Rent a 14-meter sailboat and its captain for the cruise of your choice! With family or friends, you sail safely in a legal framework, supervised by a licensed, experienced, and insured captain for this activity. No specific knowledge is required. These are your holidays and it's your boat for the duration of the rental. You are at home on board!
YOUR BOAT
It is a 14-meter sloop built by the Bénéteau shipyards on a plan by German Frers. Excellent sailing performance (especially upwind), smooth movements, cozy accommodations, teak interior, generous fittings, complete wardrobe (spinnaker, light genoa, staysail), teak deck, solar panels, platform, bathing ladder, cockpit table, motorized dinghy, etc...
Performant and comfortable: hot water, desalinator, 220-liter refrigerator, multifunction microwave oven, washing machine, electric toilet, kitchen utensils and dishes for 8 people, etc...
The safety equipment and navigation gear are well above what is required by regulations: 8-person life raft, ASN VHF, distress beacon, automatic inflatable life jackets, radar, autopilots, chart plotter, electronic wind vane/anemometer, etc...
This unit was completely renovated in 2015. The living space has been expanded: watch station under a new roof, widened salon, safety equipment, upholstery, new bedding, etc...
LIFE ON BOARD
You enjoy the advantages of being an owner without the downsides. You can invite the people of your choice on board. You organize life on board as you wish. You decide to extend or shorten stopovers, to modify the program. Depending on the weather and the route, night sailing can be considered to allow you to enjoy the stopovers and anchorages longer.
The total sleeping capacity and safety equipment of the vessel allow the welcoming of 8 people for offshore navigation and 10 people for coastal navigation. However, for the success of your cruise, for your comfort and to preserve everyone's privacy, Quetzal and its captain invite you to limit to four people and to use 2 of the 3 cabins. The rates are designed to make the privatization of the boat accessible for a couple with child(ren), 2 couples of friends, etc...
However, groups or families of up to 6 people are still welcome. In this case, the three double cabins and the forward toilets are reserved for your exclusive use. A 10% surcharge on the rental amount to be paid on-site will then be required. In this configuration, the captain uses a berth in the salon, separated by a curtain.
The captain is in charge of maneuvering, navigation, and technical maintenance of the boat. If you wish, he can share his knowledge in the areas of your choice: maneuvers, navigation, etc... He also participates in collective tasks. At anchor, he can drop you off on land and pick you up for a stroll or a meal at a restaurant.
YOUR CAPTAIN
I have been sailing for 35 years. More original and probably rarer, I have all the qualifications required by French legislation and all insurance companies. I am also insured for civil liability for this activity up to 10 million Euros.
I am also an approved trainer within the framework of the 200 sail captain's license, which is currently the only license allowing to be the skipper legally, on a rented or owner's sailing boat. It is probably not a guarantee of the captain's good mood or friendliness, but the absence of this license exposes you to enormous complications in case of any incident.
In addition to my skills, experience... and good mood, I assure you total discretion before, during, and after your cruise. You be the judge of that! I am at your disposal to answer all your questions and get to know each other better before boarding. Best regards, Charles.
YOUR CRUISE PROGRAM
It is established according to your wishes and taking into account the composition of your crew. The weather, in summer and in the Mediterranean, rarely hinders plans but may require some adjustments. We discuss this together before departure. You choose to prioritize sailing or time spent at anchor. I guide and advise you, but you make the decisions. The sailboat is not just a means of transportation. Sailing can bring as much pleasure to the helmsman as to a reader comfortably lying on the deck (onboard library). Are you attracted to white sandy beaches? Do you have children? The program is adaptable for everyone's satisfaction. Fond of naps? You will be rocked and content.
PRICES INCLUDED IN THE RENTAL RATES
They include the rental of the sailboat and its equipment (motorized dinghy, fishing gear, fins, masks, snorkels, etc...) as well as comprehensive insurance. It covers material damage caused to the boat or a third party as well as bodily injuries suffered by the tenant or caused to a third party.
These prices do not include the captain's fee (€350/day), food for the entire crew, fuel, any port or anchorage taxes, the cleaning package (€200), mandatory when one or more nights are spent on board. Bed sheets and towels can be provided for €25/person/week. Lastly, as mentioned earlier, a 10% surcharge on the rental amount will be required if you use the 3 cabins. These additional fees are to be paid on-site on the first day of rental.
