About this boat
Rent a 14-meter sailboat and its captain for the cruise of your choice! With family or friends, you sail safely in a legal framework, supervised by a licensed, experienced, and insured captain for this activity. No specific knowledge is required of you. These are your holidays and it's your boat for the duration of the rental. You are at home on board!
YOUR BOAT
It is a 14-meter sloop built by Bénéteau shipyards based on a design by German Frers. Excellent sailing performance (especially upwind), gentle movements, cozy accommodations, teak interior, generous fittings, complete sail wardrobe (spinnaker, light genoa, staysail), teak deck, solar panels, platform, bathing ladder, cockpit table, motorized dinghy, etc...
High-performance and comfortable: water heater, desalinator, 220-liter refrigerator, multifunction microwave oven, washing machine, electric toilet, kitchen utensils and tableware for 8 people, etc...
The safety equipment and navigation gear are well above what is required by regulations: 8-person life raft, ASN VHF, distress beacon, automatic inflatable life jackets, radar, autopilots, chart plotter, electronic wind indicator/anemometer, etc...
This unit was completely refurbished in 2015. The living space has been enlarged: a new watch station under a new roof, expanded salon, safety equipment, upholstery, new bedding, etc...
LIFE ON BOARD
You enjoy the benefits of being a boat owner without assuming the drawbacks. You can invite the people of your choice on board. You organize life on board as you see fit. You decide to extend or shorten stops, to modify the program. Depending on the weather and the route, night sailing can be considered to allow you to enjoy stops and anchorages longer.
The total sleeping capacity and safety equipment of the vessel allow for the accommodation of 8 people on offshore passages and 10 people on coastal navigation. However, for the success of your cruise, for your comfort, and to preserve everyone's privacy, Quetzal and its captain invite you to limit yourselves to four people and use 2 of the 3 cabins. Rates are also designed to make boat privatization accessible for a couple with child(ren), 2 couples of friends, etc...
However, groups or families of up to 6 people are still welcome. In this case, the three double cabins and the forward toilets are reserved for your exclusive use. A 10% supplement on the rental amount to be paid on site will then be required. In this configuration, the captain uses a berth in the salon, separated by a curtain.
The captain is in charge of maneuvering, navigation, and technical maintenance of the boat. If you wish, he shares his knowledge with you in the areas of your choice: maneuvers, navigation, etc... He also participates in collective tasks. While at anchor, he can drop you off ashore and come back to pick you up for a walk or a meal at a restaurant.
YOUR CAPTAIN
I have been sailing for 35 years. More uniquely (and probably more rarely...), I hold all the qualifications required by French legislation and all insurance companies. I am also insured for civil liability for this activity up to 10 million Euros.
Furthermore, I am an approved trainer in the context of the 200 sailing captain's license, which is currently the only license allowing to act as a captain legally, on a rental sailboat or an owner's sailboat. It may not be a guarantee of the captain's good mood or conviviality, but the absence of this license exposes you to enormous complications in the event of any incident.
Besides my skills, experience... and my good mood, I assure you of complete discretion before, during, and after your cruise. It's up to you to judge! I am at your disposal to answer all your questions and get to know each other better before boarding. Best regards, Charles.
YOUR CRUISE PROGRAM
It is established according to your wishes and taking into account the composition of your crew. The weather, in summer and in the Mediterranean, rarely disrupts plans but may require some adjustments. We discuss this together before departure. You choose to prioritize sailing or time spent at anchor. I guide and advise you, but you are the one who decides. The sailboat is not just a means of transportation. Sailing can bring as much pleasure to the helmsman as to someone reading a comfortable detective novel lying on the deck (onboard library). Are you attracted to white sandy beaches? Do you have children? The program is adaptable for everyone's satisfaction. Are you a fan of napping? You will be rocked and delighted.
PRICES INCLUDED IN THE RENTAL RATES
They include the rental of the sailboat and its equipment (motorized dinghy, fishing gear, fins, masks, snorkels, etc...) as well as comprehensive insurance. It covers material damage caused to the boat or a third party as well as bodily harm suffered by the tenant or caused to a third party.
These prices do not include the captain's service (€350/day), food for the entire crew, fuel, any port or anchorage taxes, the cleaning package (€350), mandatory when one or more nights are spent on board. Bed sheets and towels can be provided for €25/person/week. Lastly, as mentioned above, a 10% supplement on the rental amount will be required if you use the 3 cabins. These additional costs are to be paid on-site from the first day of rental.
