About this boat

Why the First 25.7?
The First 25.7 is a sporty boat but allows for a few days of cruising with an acceptable level of comfort from my point of view. The boat is certified A0, B4, C6, D6, which allows for 4 people to go to Corsica. The fixed keel is not a problem in the Mediterranean.
Sailing:
All maneuvers come back to the cockpit. The genoa is on a furler. Genoa in eXPR and mainsail in tri-radial cut Dacron (2021 and 2022). The boat can sail in very light winds and comes alive from 8 knots, especially with the code zero. Very pleasant at the helm between 10 and 15 knots, it starts to become sporty from 17 knots. The furler (2018) and lazy bag allow for quickly enjoying anchorages. Regarding spinnakers, upon request and after discussions, Skip'Cool can be equipped with symmetrical spinnakers (one for training, one medium in very good condition, and one heavy) or a symmetrical spinnaker in good condition of about 55m2. A code zero Mylar on a furler can also be made available. Lifelines with straps all around the cockpit for everyone's comfort.
Navigation means:
Anemometer, Lock-speed-depth sounder Raymarine. Fixed VHF ASN/AIS receiver and portable VHF ASN. AXIOM 7 GPS plotter with Mediterranean chart. EV-100 tiller pilot. Numerous paper charts of the PACA region + Corsica and the Balearic Islands; Mediterranean marine block of the year. A rugged tablet allows you to enjoy the Navionics Mediterranean application (loaded maps between Marseille and Fréjus + Corsica).
Cruising:
A large sunshade allows you to stay in the shade to enjoy anchoring or motor sailing if the wind is not cooperating. Gas stove on gimbal in the kitchen with kettle, pan, and large pot. The original cooler has been equipped with a cooling unit to keep mozzarella and beers cool. The battery allows for about two days of autonomy without starting the engine. Black water tank WC. 3 Berths for a maximum of 5 people: *) Triangular berth in the closed forward cabin: 1.6m wide by 1.8m long (2.1m along the sides and 30cm at the feet) *) Starboard berth in the salon (for two people): 2m long by 1m wide at the head and 90cm at the feet *) 1 person berth of 2.1m long by 80cm wide at the head and 50cm at the feet Foldable cockpit table. Dinghy with the possibility of inflator and electric motor.
Safety:
High-sea equipment possible (liferaft not included in the price). Subject to renting a liferaft, it is possible to be equipped to sail to Corsica. Five self-inflating life jackets with two-point lanyard and cyalumes plus traditional life jackets (as many as you want...) including 3 for children (10-20kg; 20-30kg, and 15-30kg). Two harnesses with lanyard as a supplement. Various tools; corkscrew.
Bandol and surroundings:
The boat is in Bandol (Var). Easy access by highway (paid parking recommended for stays of more than 7 days) and by the train station located 20 minutes walk from the boat. Toulon/Hyères airport is a 30-minute drive away without traffic. Numerous anchorages allow for more or less calm swimming: Bendor at the exit of the port for an aperitif or end of the cruise; Baie de la Mouette with the submarine rock for jumps between 3m and 10m (20 minutes by motor), the island of Embiez (1 hour of sailing), the Green Island in front of La Ciotat (3 hours of sailing)... A little further (a good day of sailing) you will find the calanques of Cassis, see the Frioul islands to the west or the Iles d'Or (Porquerolles, Port-Cros, Île du Levant) to the east. The more experienced sailors can reach Corsica (please note, you need to rent a liferaft separately) after 24 to 36 hours of sailing. If it was necessary to find other good reasons to come and sail in this lovely little corner, Bandol offers very good wines, some medieval villages are less than an hour's drive away. And without being chauvinistic, it's beautiful!
The last word:
The photos are indicative as they are taken as improvements and prototyping progress. Do not be surprised if you find an extra bathing platform, a gas barbecue, or if the rigid vang prototype disappears.....
Feel free to ask to arrive the night before or to modify the dates/time of departure and/or arrival: it will probably be possible to arrange according to availability. ;)
I have prepared a welcome guide that I send by email once the reservation is made to give you information on parking options and a fairly detailed description of the boat.
See you soon, Cyril
