About this boat

The Beneteau Figaro 1 First Class Challenge is a renowned 30.0ft (9.14m) one-design offshore racing monohull, originally built in 1993 for competitive club racing and the Solitaire du Figaro circuit. Designed by Jean Berret and Groupe Finot, this French sailboat features a fin keel with bulb and spade rudder, optimized for single-handed offshore performance.

With a length of 9.14m and beam of 3.23m, the yacht offers a draft of 1.80m and a total sail area of approximately 525 ft² (48.77 m²), enabling exceptional speed and maneuverability in offshore conditions.

The boat itself needs little introduction as it is known for the ‘solitaires du Figaro’ and is proven to still be a competitive boat, despite its age, in both inshore and offshore amatorial races. I have an ORC certificate with a really good ranking (663,2). For those who like a spartan lifestyle, the boat can also be used for cruising. I bought her in Amsterdam and with her, I travelled from Amsterdam to Genoa and then Genoa-Brest-Scotland-Orkney-Shetland and Norway up to Tromso. I sell it because I will have a child in July. The boat is in good condition and ready to sail (right now I sailed single-handed down from Tromso to Amsterdam). In the past five years, the boat has only been in the water for a month and a half and then kept ashore and without a mast for the winter. I have always done maintenance. In 2026: I serviced the engine (oil, filters, impeller) I serviced the webasto (with the full kit that basically makes it new). I changed the standing rigging. The submerged part of the hull and the rudder are in excellent condition. The inventory is extensive. I am the fourth owner. Engine: - Yanmar 1Gm10, always maintained from year to year and prepared for winter by professional mechanics. - 30L fuel tank Rigging: As I said, the standing rigging is new from 2026. The mast itself is aged. There are cables for the VHF antenna (2020), the navigation lights (2020) and the wind cable (2024). Running rigging: All running rigging is in good condition since as it is all high-quality material. Mainsail, genoa, spinnaker and third reef are in spectra/Dyneema. The jib sheet is Dyneema The main sheet is 10 mm Gottifredi Maffioli nylon (2024) Sails: - 2 mainsails (1 in dacron in fair condition and 1 laminated (one sails), in good condition). I used the laminated one, a maximum of 30 times. - 1 laminated J1 jib in good condition (used 30 times) - 1 heavy genoa in acceptable condition (I still use it when cruising) - 1 J3 in good condition - 1 aged J1 jib (I still use it when cruising) - 1 storm jib new (2024) - 1 storm jib very old - 2 spinnaker of different sizes in good condition Autopilots: 1) NKE gyropilot 2 with 1 screen, 1 standard wind sensor, 1 HR wind sensor with avionic cable as a backup, 1 flux gate, 1 wireless remote controller, true wind code, 1 rudder reference, 1 speed, 1 depth Octopus drives hydraulic linear actuator 2) Simrad tiller pilot TP32 Electricity and electronics: - 1 battery 160 Amp for the services (2025) - 1 battery 70 Amp for the engine (2024) - 1 Raymarine DST810 STNG Speed/Depth - 1 raymarine a65 touchscreen wifi STNG GPS plotter - 1 raymarine i70 screen - 1 AIS camino 108 +VHF antenna splitter - 2 Speakers + Bluetooth system - 1 vhf raymarine 55E + vhf preloaded antenna on top of the mast. - 1 100w sunpower cells solar panel + genasun GVB-8 Safety: - 1 Epirb new 2024 - 1 liferaft new 2024 - 1 lifebuoy with light - 1 rescue sling - signal flares 2025 Other - 1 Webasto AirTop2000 full serviced 2026 - 2 plastimo compasses - 1 tender 2025 - 30L water tank with electric pum - 1 electric bilge pump - 1 manual bilge pump - many spare parts of the engine - galvanized Danforth anchor with 12 meters chain (New 2025) and 30 m rope Asked price 24k euro negotiable (based on inventory) 20k without NKE, webasto and tender
