Benetti

Benetti is an Italian superyacht builder founded in Viareggio in 1873, now part of the Azimut Benetti Group, with yards in Viareggio, Livorno, and Fano. The company builds semi-custom yachts from 34 meters and one-off projects past 100 meters, and it ranks among the leading builders of custom superyachts.

Lorenzo Benetti bought an existing shipyard in Viareggio harbor in 1873 and built fishing boats and small trading vessels for Mediterranean routes. His sons Gino and Emilio took over in 1914, renamed the firm Fratelli Benetti, and shifted output toward oceangoing ships and the first private yachts. The family business ran into financial trouble in the early 1980s, and in 1985 Paolo Vitelli, founder of Azimut, bought the yard. That combination grew into the Azimut Benetti Group, one of Italy's largest boatbuilding groups.

The current program spans eight lines. Oasis models come in 34 and 42 meter sizes, Motopanfilo in 37 and 45, and B.Yond in 40 and 57. B.Now runs from 52 to 72 meters, B.Loft covers 58 and 65, and the Class and B.Neos lines sit at 44 and 40 meters. Above them all, the Custom division takes on one-off projects from 67 to 108 meters; the 108 meter IJE marks the top of that range so far. Everything is built in Italy across the three sites.

A century and a half of production has left a deep fleet on the water, from classic hulls of earlier decades to recent Oasis and B.Now deliveries, and Benettis move steadily through both charter and brokerage channels.
