What does Feadship stand for?
First Export Association of Dutch Shipbuilders. Dutch family yards adopted the name in 1949 as a joint venture to market their custom-built yachts for export, and it became the brand under which they build today.

The Feadship name dates to 1949, when Dutch family shipyards banded together to export custom yachts, and its roots reach back to 1849 through the Akerboom family's yard. Today the partners are Royal Van Lent Shipyard, building at Kaag and Amsterdam, and Koninklijke De Vries Scheepsbouw, building at Aalsmeer and Makkum, with De Voogt Naval Architects in Hoofddorp as the design and engineering office. Both yards hold Dutch royal titles, granted in 2001 and 2006, and Royal Van Lent has belonged to the French luxury group LVMH since 2008.
Full-custom superyachts only
Feadship does not build series boats; each project is a one-off engineered around its owner. Well-known deliveries include Venus, Savannah, Symphony, and Aquarius, every one of them launched in the Netherlands. The order book stays active, and in 2025 the company joined the Nuclear Energy Maritime Organization as part of its research into future propulsion.
Buying and chartering a Feadship
