Regal

Regal is an American boat builder founded in 1969 by Paul and Carol Kuck with investors Gene Kandel and Clark Prudhon. The company is based in Orlando, Florida, and remains a family-owned manufacturer. Regal builds fiberglass pleasure boats, including bowriders, cruisers, center consoles, and sport yachts.

Regal Marine Industries began in 1969 and first focused on small sports and ski boats. Early company accounts place its original operations in Florida, with relocation to Orlando as production expanded in the early 1970s. The business weathered the 1973 energy crisis and continued under the Kuck family’s leadership. Regal later became known for developing its own hull and layout solutions rather than relying only on standard production-boat formats. It is still presented as a privately held, family-run builder.

Regal’s range covers runabouts, bowriders, cabin cruisers, sport yachts, center consoles, and surf-oriented models. Published buying guides describe its fiberglass boats as typically ranging from about 19 to 52 feet. The brand is closely associated with the FasTrac hull design, introduced in the 1990s, which Regal says was intended to improve speed and fuel efficiency. Regal has also been noted for premium interiors and a strong emphasis on comfort in family dayboats and mid-size cruisers.
