Moody 31 MKII (1987)

The Moody 31 is a sturdy and comfortable cruising yacht, built to high standards under the supervision of Lloyd’s Register. Despite her compact dimensions, this Moody offers a surprisingly spacious layout, both in the sheltered cockpit and the well-appointed interior, making her an ideal family cruiser. Thanks to her bilge keels, she has a shallow draft, which greatly expands the cruising area and also makes drying out possible. She is powered by a reliable Volvo Penta 3-cylinder diesel engine. The sail quiver is complete and includes a mainsail, genoa, jib and cruising chute. All sails can be handled comfortably from the cockpit using selftailing winches. Recent maintenance includes renewal of the Volvo shaft seal and P-bracket bearing, while the standing rigging was replaced in 2017. The navigation instruments are old, but still functional for inland and coastal cruising. A valid VAT certificate is available. The Moody is presently on the hard and will be launched again 31st of March 2026. The interior of the Moody 31 is practical in layout and finished with high-quality woodwork. The two separate cabins each offer comfortable double berths, providing ample accommodation for family or guests. In the saloon, the settees can serve as additional berths; the starboard berth extends to 2.10 metres. The saloon table features folding leaves, allowing easy movement through the cabin. The galley, located to starboard by the companionway, offers convenient cooking and storage space, while to port there is a chart table with seat. The heads is equipped with a marine toilet and washbasin, and an additional Porta Potti chemical toilet has been installed later, a clever and practical solution for use on inland waters.
