Lagoon Catamarans

Lagoon Catamarans is a French builder of cruising catamarans and multihull sailing yachts. The brand began in 1984 as a specialist multihull division of Jeanneau and later became part of the Beneteau Group through the acquisition of Jeanneau. Lagoon has built its reputation on cruising catamarans rather than monohull sailboats.

Lagoon began in 1984 inside Jeanneau’s JTA division, which focused on high-performance multihull and racing projects. Its first commercial model was the Lagoon 55, launched in 1987, and early production established the brand’s direction toward offshore cruising catamarans. Jeanneau’s multihull division later passed into the Beneteau Group, and Lagoon became associated with Construction Navale Bordeaux, or CNB, in France. The company remains a French brand within the Beneteau Group structure.

Lagoon’s model history includes a long series of cruising catamarans built for private ownership and charter use. Early generations included the Lagoon 47, 57 and 67, followed by popular family and charter models such as the Lagoon 380, 410, 420, 440 and 500. The brand is widely linked with roomy layouts, flybridge designs on later models, and a balance of comfort and sailing performance. Lagoon has produced vessels from compact cruising cats to larger offshore-oriented yachts.
