The Dufour 35 Classic is a design by the J & J studio with a relatively modern hull shape. The hull has a pronounced "U" shape in the bow third and flattens towards the stern. The keel, with a bulb shoe type, and the slender suspended rudder complete a satisfactory design.

The boat is constructed with its bulkheads and main stringers laminated to the hull. The used liners - some of which are visible behind the furniture - concern the furnishing of the salon and bathrooms, without being essential to the overall rigidity or excessively affecting the balance.

The 35 Classic does not stand out particularly in any direction or wind intensity, but it performs honorably in all conditions it may encounter on its bow.

The rig is almost at the masthead, without backstays and with two sets of slightly angled spreaders. The boat supports up to 62 m2 of sail on a beat for a displacement of 4,500 kilos. It is a fairly judicious proportion for the fast cruising program of this model.
