The Cranchi Mediterranee 43 is an Italian-designed hardtop sports cruiser with clean lines, a low profile and an upscale finish that still looks current. In 2007 form it was typically offered with twin Volvo Penta IPS 600 diesels, giving the boat a modern running attitude for its era and a layout aimed more at entertaining than extended liveaboard use.
On the water, the IPS setup is the standout feature. Reports for this model place cruising speed around the mid-20-knot range and top speed roughly in the low-to-mid 30s, with the pod drives adding precise low-speed control and easier docking than conventional shafts. That makes it notably easy to handle for a boat of this size, especially in tight marinas and crosswinds.
Inside, the 2-cabin, 2-head arrangement is practical for a 43-foot class cruiser, but volume is not its strongest suit. The accommodation is best described as comfortable for couples or a small family on short trips, with enough overnight capability for cruising but less interior space than some newer designs of similar length.
In value terms, the Mediterranee 43 is strongest when bought well and maintained carefully. It offers a premium brand feel, respectable performance and good handling, but age-related maintenance, diesel pod-drive service history and general refit condition matter a lot more than brochure figures on a 2007 example.
