DO I NEED A BOATING LICENCE TO OPERATE A BOAT IN FLORIDA?
We advise all customers to complete a boating safety course. These courses do not take long and are easy to do. In addition, they are beneficial for your safety as well as the safety of your companions and other persons on the water.

All customers born on or after January 1, 1988 have to fulfill the following requirements to operate a motor boat with 10 hp or more:

Successful completion of a Boater Safety Course
possession of a Boating Safety Education Identification Card, issued by the FWC
