Sirius is a Classic Staysail Schooner, designed by J.D. Thistlethwaite in the early 1930's. She was launched in February 1935.Just a legend
This sturdy vessel was designed to survive the worst storm that nature could serve up and she departed on a circumnavigation later that year. Returning to Sydney in 1937 Sirius entered the history books as the first Australian built yacht to do a circumnavigation and she is as strong and beautiful today as she was then. She sleeps six guests in comfort with many changes including roling head sail, fully battened main, a flush toilet, mains electricity and air conditioning. The owners and crew have a family connection dating back to the 1970's and would love you to become part of that history. Sailing Holidays and Charters on Sirius On deck there is pleny of room to lounge around and relax or get involved trimming the numerous sails.
