Croatia

Croatia is the heart of the Mediterranean and Adriatic Seas. Vacations both on shore and on sea are popular among tourists.

Yacht renting in Croatia is a nice way to add some excitement to your vacation. The climate in the country is Mediterranean: in summer, it is around +28°C, so a boat trip in the open sea would definitely make your holiday unforgettable.

The coastline is at least 1,200 kilometers long. More than 1,000 Croatian islands protect the area from winds.

Several types of boats are usually available for chartering: motor and sailing boats, cutters, and gulets. The last but not least are traditional sailing boats made of wood, yet the engines are powerful and all of the tech is state of the art. They are rented for both short sea trips and cruises.

If you plan to enjoy your vacation on a luxurious yacht and at the same time explore the coast, pick your stops wisely. There are around 1,500 ports and marinas in Croatia, including island harbors. The largest are located near popular tourist destinations such as Split, Dubrovnik, Zadar, and Šibenik.

Yacht tours in Croatia usually take place in three regions: Dalmatia, Istria, and Kvarner Gulf.

1. Dalmatia. The area is mountainous, with coniferous forests, sandy beaches, and cozy bays. Split is the largest port where you can moor your yacht and relax on one of the beaches. If you prefer peaceful vacations, then travel to an uninhabited island to the southwest of Split. The Kornati archipelago is great for camping, and Hvar hosts the best parties. Zadar and Dubrovnik could be entertaining to history lovers: there are numerous museums, Medieval churches, and cathedrals.

2. Istria. Pula is the heart of yachting in Croatia. While sailing across the western coastline, you may enjoy unique landscapes of the Istria peninsula. From Pula, you might go on a diving trip to Medulin or the Brijuni Islands to dive—beware that fishing is prohibited in the regions, though.

3. Kvarner Gulf. This resort is separated from Istria by the Učka mountain range. This place is perfect for a vacation at the Adriatic Sea: rent a water scooter or a tender boat, and you will be able to see the most curious and secluded parts of the country. Such popular resort islands as Opatija, Malinska, Krk, Crikvenica, or Lovran would be great for a beach holiday.

If you are yachting pro, then make sure to check the dates of the regattas and boat shows in Croatia. The most famous of them are Vishe Radugi Cup, MBY Cup, and Hanse Cup Russia Open.
