Chinese shipyard Heysea will build a 30-meter yacht HARD 97 for HARD Yachts. The new yacht will be made according an ancient Russian boat, which is so-called Pomeranian Koch. In the 11th century, this boat sailed in the ice-covered waters of the White Sea. The new model will be able to move in the Antarctic and tropical environment. Like the Koch, the HARD 97 will have a small draft that will allow the boat to walk in shallow water.
According to the idea of the marine architect Nick Boksa, the body should be ovoid in shape. The vessel will be made of glass fiber reinforced plastic reinforced with a para-aramid fiber with a top coating of stainless steel at the waterline. HARD 97 in all respects will correspond to the "C" class of the International Polar Code, despite the ancient prototype. Three decks will be connected by an elevator and ramps.
The capacity of the boat is 10 people, which will comfortably accommodate in 5 luxury cabins. There are 4 cabins for the crew. The exterior and interior was created by Juan Carlos Espinoza.
The HARD 97 will be powered by a Caterpillar C18 engine at 1000 hp, which will result in a speed of 12 knots.
