The next stage of the annual Sailing Champions League will be held from 3 to 6 August in St. Petersburg. The regatta has been taken place in the northern capital for the third year already.
Fans and spectators will be able to see a truly breathtaking spectacle from the beach near the Peter and Paul Fortress within 4 days. Participants of the sailing race are champions and winners of the previous stages from 24 yacht clubs from 16 countries. The final will take place in late August in Switzerland.
In comparison with last year, the number of participants and countries increased by one third. This year, Russia will be represented by five teams from Moscow, St. Petersburg and Yekaterinburg. For the victory will also fight representatives of yacht clubs from Germany, Switzerland, Finland, Austria, Italy, France, Poland and other countries. Great hope are centered on the strongest and famous British team Royal Ocean Racing Club.
At the end of the stage in Sardinia, the Circolo della Vela Bari from Italy took the first place, overtaking Austria and France.
Special places will be organized for spectators, as well as recreation and leisure zones. The entrance to the racing village is free.
