The unexpected bankruptcy of Oyster Yachts

Founded in 1973 the British company Oyster Yachts announced its bankruptcy. Based in Southampton, Oyster Yachts has shipyard in Hoveton, Norwich and offices in Ipswich, Palma, Mallorca, and Newport, USA.


It is with sincere regret that we advise that the Company has been unable to secure financial support to enable it to continue at this time and it is looking at all opportunities available. At the end of January at the Boot Düsseldorf 2018 the company presented 22-meter elegant Oyster 745, one of the largest yachts at the exhibition in Dusseldorf.

According to non-official information, the Dutch investment company HTP Investments BV has stopped financial support for Oyster. In 2017, the company broke a record of over £80 million and planned to release new Oyster 825 and 895 models.
