This weekend, a Halloween pumpkin water race was held in Oregon, USA. The 16th annual regatta was attended by participants from all over North America.
The event began with a parade of giant pumpkins and their weighing, followed by the grand opening of the race. Around 140 paddlers participated in a series of 4 regattas. All the paddlers were wearing Halloween costumes that made the race even more interesting to watch. By the way, the participants of the regatta did not have to grow their “boats”, because all the pumpkins were provided by members of the Pacific Giant Vegetable Growers club.
A costume contest, pumpkin carving workshops, pie-eating contest, and pumpkin golf was organized for the spectators on land.
