French yachtsman Francois Gabart finally started round-the-world race after 2 weeks before the planned start. The sportsperson wants to break the world record for sailing solo around the globe.
On 3 of November 2017 Francois had set off from Port-La-Forev in Brittany on the 100-foot trimaran Macif. When he sailed on this vessel in 2013, Gabart became the winner of the race Vendée Globe. To set a new record Gabart need to complete a single voyage on the 23 of December at 13:09 or earlier. Then he will overtake Thomas Coville, who completed the journey in 49 days and 184 minutes.
