The yachts-participants started from Auckland (New Zealand) to Itajai (Brazil) on 18th March within the 7th stage of the Volvo Ocean Race.
Sunny weather and wind at 25 knots accompanied the teams, still there is only the Vestas 11th Hour Racing that was the leader for the first three days with the advantage in 15 miles. On the 4th day the fleet crossed the Waitemata harbour and reached the Gulf of Haruki. The yachts bypassed the area with the possible icebergs. After this race the Vestas 11th Hour Racing lost the championship to other teams.
The distance at the 7th stage of the Volvo Ocean Race is 7,600 nautical miles. The teams must cross the South Ocean, Cape horn and return to the Atlantic. The peculiarity of the 7th regatta VOR was crossing the Point Nemo, a place in the water expanses, which is situated too far from land in any direction.

7. Team Sun Hung Kai /Scallywag
